About

Growing up in a Hispanic household, we loved to have fiestas! It felt like we would find an excuse to celebrate anything and everthing just so we can all get together. You know those memes of seeing children asleep in chairs or underneath the tables while the adults were partying? That was us! This is where I learned to love to entertain at home! As a first generation Latina, I am living my dream in owning my own party boutique.

My career in retail began when I was a candy striper at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. I would be assigned different tasks in the hospital, but my absolute favorite was pushing a cart filled with toiletries, magazines, and candy, offering patients goods to buy.  The smile on their faces would light up with getting a knock on the door and even if they didn’t buy anything, we would have great conversations!  I then got a job at their gift shop and loved helping visitors pick up a gift for their loved one.

From there I went to Curry College where I met my husband and partner in crime Walter. He ended up graduating, I ended up leaving, went to UMASS Boston for a year and realized school was not for me. I then went to work at Kotlier’s Cards & Gifts in the Cambridge Side Galleria Mall (who remembers them?) and quickly moved from sales to manager. I was there for a little over a year and realized I did not like the big box corporations nor the mall!

As I searched for a job, I had a friend tell me about one in Brookline (where I grew up). I went, applied, interviewed and boom got the job at Party Favors.  They are a family owned party shop with an award-winning bakery. Again, I started as a sales girl and moved up quickly to a manager where I wore many, many hats. I took cake orders, did the ordering for the party side, managed the employees, made displays and so much more! I loved it so much I stayed for 21 years!!  During the years I had been there, I had always dreamed of what it would be like to own my own store. I loved helping customers pick out plates and napkins for their entertaining/special celebration or helping them find the perfect gift for a child or housewarming. It made me happy and gave me joy to help them!

After several years of searching for a spot to open up a retail shop, the stars finally aligned and we opened up my dream store in November of 2018 in Natick Center on Mile 10 of the Boston Marathon Route. (Learn why this location means so much to us here.)  It’s hard to describe all the emotions and feelings that I had and still get. My support team and customers have been the best and Natick welcomed us with open arms. I am truly living my best life right now, living my dream!

So, stop on by in person or have fun checking out our online store! We are here to bring the fun in your fiesta and the joy of gift giving. We can’t wait to meet you!
